GrooveMix is a Chrome extension that mixes audio between two YouTube tabs from a side panel.
What we collect
- The license key you enter to unlock the paid version, and the email address returned by Gumroad when that key is verified. Stored locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local) — not sent to us or to any server we operate. - Mixer settings (selected decks, EQ/gain/tempo values, keyboard shortcuts), stored locally to restore your setup between sessions.
- Anonymous usage analytics from inside the GrooveMix side panel: which buttons/controls you interact with, and named events like connecting a deck, skipping a track, reaching the trial limit, or activating a license. If you submit feedback through the panel's feedback prompt, that text is included. We use this to see which features get used and to fix what doesn't work — not to build a profile of you.
What we don't collect
We never see the YouTube tabs' page content, video titles/URLs, or your general browsing history — analytics only covers interactions inside GrooveMix's own side panel. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Third-party sharing
- When you activate a license, your license key is sent to Gumroad (
api.gumroad.com) solely to verify your purchase. See Gumroad's own privacy policy for how they handle that request. - Usage analytics described above is sent to PostHog, our analytics provider. See PostHog's privacy policy for how they handle that data.
Data retention
Locally stored data lives in your browser's extension storage and is removed if you uninstall the extension.
